Perlle's "50 Vegetarian Foods to Eat Before You Die"

Add to my lists | Print this list

I feel bad for all the vegetarians out there who can’t participate in the 50 things to eat before you die list. And since I couldn’t find a list available for vegetarians, I put this together. I’m not vegetarian, but I do enjoy a lot of vegetarian food. This list is not vegan, and definitely not all "healthy" foods. I tried to make it more interesting by not including a lot of things we’ve all had like broccoli. I also tried to include regional foods as well. Some arguably might not be "food" and others probably best if only consumed once. -Perlle

A word of caution — 1 year ago

Be careful with the peanut noodles. Some brands use fish oil in their peanut sauce.

I had this at lunch yesterday and it was gorgeous, definitely one I’ll have to make again.

… Tofurkey? I’ve always wanted to try it; and probably will this Thanksgiving.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm — 4 years ago

I’m vegan and have eaten vegan versions of most of the things on this exceptionally yummy list. Please add soy milk, hot chocolate, blueberry muffins, and plain chocolate too. Then I can die happy! Thanks. :-)

Try this.. — 5 years ago

there’s a great vegetarian restaurant in melbourne, australia called the “vege bar”

they used to serve (still might?) Polenta parmargana ( a slab of fried polenta topped with a tomato and herb sauce and melted tasty cheese) with greens on the side. All the dishes are yummy but thats my favorite!

:]

The majority of Ramen noodles aren’t Veg.

They have lots of animal flavoring in them. :[

Great list! — 5 years ago

I’m not veg. myself but I LOVE the list. Only missing a few, now I’ve got a goal! Personally veg food is much better that what meat-eaters eat. Can’t get my hubby to eat TVP though…

Yes. add grape leaves!

Also, perhaps TVP add? Makes the best chilli!
