Michelin Guide's 2008 Starred Restaurants of New York City

This is the official set of restaurants for this year (2008), picked by the Michelin guide. This list is for New York City. #1-33 are ONE STAR restaurants. #34-39 are the TWO STAR restaurants. There are six of these picked. And finally, #40-42 are the THREE STAR restaurants. Three in all of NYC.

For those not familiar with the Michelin way of rating, they do not take into consideration service, price or ambience. Only what is on the plate. For example, Masa is the most expensive restaurant in the country at $400 a person for the 30 course omakase, not including your sake…But, it is rated at 2 stars despite the price.

I don’t live in NYC, but drive up for weekends – I’d enjoy comments about other restaurants that should be, could be or would never be on this list! :)

P.S. I’m always in search of the perfect noodle, too…if you know of the perfect ramen, soba, pho, bean thread, capellini, rice stick, somen, udon or anything else slurpable preferably in Manhattan or Seattle, but will wander far and wide, please leave a comment ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
