I haven’t got the book, but I assume they meant The Bachelor Party from the 50’s (Delbert Mann I think), not the 80’s sex comedy
I’ve not got the book (have read it)- are the right versions of the Marseille trilogy and The Kid Brother here? I would have expected the Pagnol 1930’s classic and the Harold Lloyd silent instead. I’ve never been impressed with Halliwell guides and this is another staid, dull old-fashioned offering, though of course it’s always good to encourage more viewing of classics, and expanding horizons.
I’d like to add this to my list, but only when all the titles are there.
kyrat
Berkeley
For example.
I’ve seen Vor (1997)but didn’t recognize it as #254 Thief.
It’d be nice if the lists showed the original title and then maybe the American version in parenthesis below.
I had to go look it up on imdb to make sure this was the same film.
David Mihalcik
Wheaton
I was impressed when alyxstarr typed in the Criterion Collection, which is currently only at 335 movies. This is awesome. Now someone needs to enter the NY Times list…
