racism, sexism, heterosexism, homophobia etc. is alive and well and the media engages in a sometimes, subtle and sometimes, overt cyclical contribution to this social problem.

Movies that would fit into this category are those that use popular characteristics of persons apart from the mainstream norm that make them appear comical, unintelligent, evil, etc. This does not include serious representations of characters based on actual characteristics, nor does it include satirical representations where characteristics are knowingly exaggerated in order offer a point.
