RIAA's "Grammy Award Winners for Best Pop Album/Album of the Year"

Awarded since 1967 at which time it was called "Best Contemporary Album", it started as a catch-all category for any new music which wasn’t easy listening, standards singers or jazz. Beginning in 1968 I have assumed that the "Album of the Year" winner constituted the best pop album.
