mizoguchi's "200+ Essential British films"

Year order. Quite wide definition of British, with some American funded films like The Great Escape, Doctor Zhivago, The English Patient, Shakespeare in Love, as well as films by Kubrick and other non-British directors. I missed a few by mistake- the Welsh film Hedd Wyn, Remains of the Day, Sense + Sensibility, Bloody Sunday, Looking for Langston- so they’re not in correct placings. This is pretty well an objective list, with some i’m not too keen on but important viewing for any students of the subject
