In some of the films- e.g The Eel, The White Balloon, When the Cat’s Away, Bringing up Baby- the animals aren’t the main subject but worth seeing anyway. Blood of the Beasts is a slaughterhouse film, a necessary reminder i think- but not family viewing! Other suggestions welcome.
