lizatleeds's "The List (Part Deux)"
Congratulations! You have completed the first list.
It is with great trepidation that I embark on producing a second list, especially given the apparent success of the first one. I’ll admit that with this list a few more risks were taken, so just a couple of things before we begin. As before, if you have seen one of these let me know and I will replace it with another title. I picked up on a few things that you liked about the first list (such as particular actors), and I left out some things that you didn’t like (such as a Western). The list is in general a bit darker and a bit older; there are more dramas than comedies, and fifteen of the twenty-six were made before 1960. There are also some unusual trilogies on the list. Films that aren’t actually meant to go together, but attack the same subject from different angles; for example, one of the 1946 films, the 1961 film, and the 1970 film all deal with war but very little time is spent on the battlefield, and the 1957, 1961 and 1999 films all deal with trials. I have absolutely no idea if you will have any desire to make it through this second list, or if you will enjoy it as much but here goes nothing!
