near misses: Schindler’s List, Bridge over the River Kwai, Silence of the Lambs, One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Not an Oscar completist, I’ve not seen Broadway Melody 1929, Cimarron and Cavalcade- but suspect i’ve not missed much.
