Top 50 Done — 1 year ago

I’ve updated the top 50, didnt have time to do anymore

Lumière bros are back baby! — 1 year ago

Oh yeah.

Update — 1 year ago

Yeah, that’s what i was thinking, though they’ll probably leave it til like December 31st, we could do it between us, eg, someone posts UPDATING NOW then put 1-154 updated or something

December update — 1 year ago

It will be any day now. Will one person take responsibility for updating the list, or just whoever notices it first? I’m willing to do it if it happens by Friday. After that I’m away from my computer for a while because of Christmas.

Untitled — 2 years ago

Maybe the upcoming update will adjust my percentage positively.

For those who are interested I have created my own top 1,000 films list. It isn’t ranked but it still is 1000 films.

Missing movies — 2 years ago

Somebody deleted the first 4 (Citizen Kane, La Regle de Jeu, Vertigo, 2001: A Space Odyssey), but I can’t get the program to work to put them back in. If someone gets a chance, can you rectify this dire situation?

Untitled — 2 years ago

I definately agree that this is likely the best list of the greatest movies ever made. Though it’s obviously hard to disagree with the list (since it is really just a comprehensive tabulation of critical acclaim), there are nevertheless a couple of movies I wish were higher/lower. Nonetheless, for the most part (especially the top 2, and the great majority of the top 50) I believe this is an accurate ranking of the best movies.

Untitled — 2 years ago

I’ve made a list of the top 100 only, if anyone’s interested. And I second horakti’s remarks about it being irrational to complain about the placement of certain films on this list. This list is the most comprehensive you’re likely to find. Although it is probably eurocentric-statistics having been took from mainly european/north american sources-it would be nice if the critics from thes places watched more non-european/american films.

lulz @ — 2 years ago

the underrepresentation of the czech new wave on top 1000 lists. you can get daisies on a list or two, but no fruit of paradise? no the joke? no late august at the hotel o-zone?

also lulz @ the lack of shadows on this’un. unless i missed it.

Untitled — 2 years ago

I tried to alter the list by changing the first mention of de Sica’s Shoeshine (place # 295) to Miracle in Milan, which is what is listed on the source list. Except I can’t seem to add anything to the list. Ummm….help?
