Danny Peary's Guide For the Film Fanatic "Must See" Films

Add to my lists | Print this list

Published in 1986, film critic Danny Peary’s Guide For the Film Fanatic, categorized 1600+ essential films every film fanatic should view. Although it only covers films mades up to 1986, the book more than makes up for it in content. Included here are not just the most critically acclaimed pictures, but a rather eclectic collection of hollywood classics, controversial and cult movies, foreign gems, sleepers, trash, camp and B pictures, academy nominated, and personal favorites. Numerous genres are represented: from action to the occult, from comedy to noir, arthouse, and everything in between.

This list (presented in alphabetical order) is recommended to anyone, who besides being a film fanatic enjoys a wide array of types of films from the mainstream, foreign, independent, and even trash classifications.

How odd that there are no “must see” movies that begin with a letter after D.
