Novalis's "Favorite Albums of the 2000's"In the back of my mind, there’s always the idea, right or wrong, that the 60’s and 70’s (and to a lesser point, the eighties and late fifties) were the best periods for music. I hardly know anything about the last two decades, and what I know, I don’t really care for. Awful music has always existed, of course. It might be that my indifference comes from my high expectations. I expect recent music to bring something new, and not merely mimicking great music from the past. |
