Live a Raw Food Lifestyle — 35 weeks ago

Whew! I have completed my first major challenge of the year. I ate a vegan and raw diet for the month of March and survived. I have to “digest” more elements of this challenge but I will say that a 100% raw vegan is not for me. Not yet, anyway. I have decided to keep eating raw 2 days out of the week, 2 days vegan, 2 days vegetarian (some dairy and fish allowed), and 1 day for meat. I think this will give me enough options to keep a healty diet that is varied and interesting. I should be able to continue to lose weight (fat, anyway) and have energy to exercise. My favorite part of the diet was being able to eat a good sized plate of food and not feel “stuffed”. And I felt cleaner in my body. There will still be more experiments with food, and I have to go back and really post-post my blog, but tonight I return to the world of the cooking carnivores having learned a lot, forced myself to be disciplined, weighing 15 pounds less than I did on March 1st (woohoo!), and eager to see what comes next.
