Films101.com Top 500 Films

Add to my lists | Print this list

A list of the best films (according to the website), ordered by rank.

From the site: "The films are ranked in order of acclaim among film professionals, using proprietary formulas.

"As new sources and films are added, rankings will change. Occasionally, the source lists are re-evaluated and rankings may be tweaked to achieve the best possible results. Also, as some source lists get older, they lose some weight."

Note: Some films are tied for a certain rank, so there are more than 500 titles on the list.

Finished! — 2 years ago

I had some time today so I went ahead and completed the list, adding the rest of the films up to rank 500. It was quite a task because the source list seems to go through frequent updates — I had to move a lot of things around. But I was in one of my organizing, listing & categorizing moods (lol) so I plowed through to the end.

Hopefully, they won’t be making any major changes any time soon… (fingers crossed) :)

Thanks — 2 years ago

That’s definitely cool. I’ve been busy and haven’t had a chance to touch this.

I added more films from the source list up to #150 (there’s several ties so it’s a bit more than 150 titles on the list). Since this is a community list, I figured it would be ok if I worked on it too. I was careful about following the source list.

I’ll add more films later when I get a chance. If you don’t want me to do that, please let me know. Otherwise, I’ll just assume it’s cool and go ahead with the additions.

I’ve set to work on creating this list—for some reason it doesn’t bring up options with pictures on about half of them. I’m not sure how to remedy that.
