I hate the way "indie rock" is misused as a genre — 28 weeks ago

I like a lot of these albums but “indie rock” is NOT a genre no matter how many critics and average people try to make it one. All “indie” means is “On a label NOT owned or distributed by 1 of the 4 “major” labels”...that’s it. Indie music can be ANY style…not just rock..and there’s no particular “sound” to it that makes it “indie” either. People misuse it to mean “college radio rock” and that’s not right.
