Other recommendations — 2 years ago

I’m kind of disappointed that the following books aren’t here, but I’m going to try to keep this list as faithful to the original—and yet, as concise—as I can:

A Scanner, Darkly

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

The Great and Secret Show

Done, for now — 2 years ago

And…I’m spent.

A few notes for clarity:

I didn’t take the time to add in all of Neil Gaiman’s books, although they were all recommended, technically. If anyone wants to do this, more power to you.

Even though Dune was the only Herbert book mentioned, I’m sure that one could add any from the series without complaint.

The same could be said of any of Hunter S. Thompson’s books.

I added a bunch of Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles, discounting the books post-Vampire Armand. Considering adding the rest, later.

I only included the specific Elric books listed on the original website, though all of them were recommended. Feel free to add them, if you’d like.

…same thing goes for the rest of Storm Constantine’s Wraeththu books.

Isak Dinesen’s Out of Africa is listed twice in the original source material. I only listed it once.

Sci-Fi — 2 years ago

Sci-Fi recs are up! Now, on to Fantasy.

General Fiction — 2 years ago

Finished adding on 04/05/09. Note: I combined some suggestions for multiple books by the same author, if they were available in a compiled edition, with no other extras. I expanded some other suggestions (Tales of the City, for example) to reflect the original commentary. Still need to upload pics, add tags and fix links. Next up, Sci-Fi!
