se71's "Movies I never want to waste my time watching"

Add to my lists | Print this list

Sometimes a movie is universally panned by critics and/or public. I’d like to avoid wasting my time actually sitting through them.

There are others I just don’t like the look of for one reason or another.

So this is my list, so I don’t forget. Suggestions welcome.

PS

This doesn’t really work with allconsuming very well – I can’t tick them, as I’m never going to consume them, so this list should always be 0% complete for me.!

My take on the list — 6 years ago

U-571 was okay by me. Historically inaccurate, of course, but on its own as an adventure film it was decent, if a bit overwrought.

Pearl Harbor was visually arresting at times but otherwise, a waste of 3 hours. These Hollywood producers have to get over their penchant for trying to add stupid love stories to movies about historical events.

Gigli sucked, sucked, sucked. I hated, hated, HATED that movie. I only managed about 12 minutes of the DVD before I hit “eject” and practically threw it into the return envelope to Netflix.

Ishtar was similarly bad, an alleged comedy (or something) that just fell flat from the start.

I’ve nearly rented Million Dollar Baby several times but it’s been spoiled for me, and I’d have to be in a particular mood for it. So I keep moving it further and further down my queue.

I’ll wait for the DVD on Brokeback Mountain.
