wokelstein's "Best of Oscar"
These are, in my opinion, the best films to be nominated for or win the Best Picture Oscar. All can be found in my four star and alternate lists. In alphabetical order.
List is complete as of the moment. I haven’t seen every film nominated for Best Picture ever (I’m certainly fairly ignorant of those before the late eighties), but as I do and when I find some I think are deserving of "Best Of" status, I’ll update this list. Putting in these titles, I’ve realized that these are my picks for "100 (+) Films That Everybody Should Be Expected to See". This is my spin on what stuff is actually important and what should be emphasized within the canon of American film classics.
Can’t respect a list with Crash, Apollo 13, and Rain Man but without Chinatown, The Conversation, or Bonnie and Clyde? Make your own damn list!
Honestly, I would seriously love to see other people’s versions of this one.
