Manny Farber's "Best Films" of 1951

Add to my lists | Print this list

From "Farber On Film" edited by Robert Polito, pp 374-376

Originally appeared in "The Nation" magazine. The piece is dated January 5th, 1952. Films 1-9 got capsule reviews, 10-22 were honorable mentions.

Film #1 is "Little Big Horn."

Film #11 is listed in the article as "Against The Gun," probably erroneously. (The AFI Film Catalog does include a film under that title.)

Film #22 is listed without a title; Mr. Farber’s synopsis matches the description of "A Hound For Trouble."
