Bananapuddin's "Bands/Musicians I've Seen Live"

Add to my lists | Print this list

I consider myself extremely lucky to have been in the right place and the right time to see many of the bands below including tons of bands at the legendary 9:30 Club (mostly for free) and other clubs in D.C./Baltimore and in N.Y., L.A., and Europe. I am somewhat embarrassed to have seen many other really awful bands at the Merriweather Post Pavilion because lawn seats were under $10 and I was bored.

Sonny and Cher — 2 years ago

Saw them when I was little at the New York State Fair. They were cool.

Those were the days my friend... — 2 years ago

Was probably first (along with my sister) U2 “groupie” (sort of) in U.S. Saw lots of awesome performances, especially in D.C. at the Bayou with 50 people. Have their songlists autographed. Slept at Bono’s feet at Gramercy Park Hotel in NYC (in room with the Edge as well), went to the East Village and Chinatown with them and to the World Trade Center (where Bono pointed to Dublin and said he missed his father). Went bowling with the Edge in Asbury Park, NJ, to a Monty Python movie with the whole band, and to the beach where Bono stripped to his red underpants and dove in the freezing cold Atlantic Ocean yelling “a man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do!” Unfortunately, nothing that exciting has happened to me since…
