110 Best Books: The Perfect Library

Add to my lists | Print this list

This list was compiled by the Telegraph in 2008, and celebrates the 110 books which represent the "perfect library." The entries are divided into several categories, including: Classics, Poetry, Literary Fiction, Romantic Fiction, Children’s Books, Science-Fiction, Crime, "Books that Changed the World," "Books that Changed Your World," History, & Lives. This list will reflect the categories in that order.

There were hundreds of comments added to the posting, which you can see along with the original list. There are some notable omissions, but the list gives a nice sampling of what each category has to offer. I found the idea intruiguing—if you could pick only a few books to represent each category, what would your perfect library look like? Hope you enjoy!
