ABC Fiction Award (Australian Fiction)
An annual award for an unpublished manuscript by an Australian resident, the ABC Fiction Award was first awarded by the Australian Broadcasting Commission (ABC) in 2006. As the website says: "The ABC Fiction Award aims to encourage emerging writers, contribute to Australian literary culture, and fulfil the ABC’s charter by reflecting the diversity of the Australian community and adding to a sense of national identity." http://www.abc.net.au/corp/abcfictionaward/ (as at 13 June 2006).
