acompleteunknown's "The 55 Strangest Food Oddities for the Adventurous Eater"

Add to my lists | Print this list

For me,some of the list is not thing that i’ll consume…..so i’ll not check it…..forever….(Now this list is not for everyone, heck, it’s probably not for most people. But if you like to be daring with your food, here is a definitive list of some of the world’s best and strangest food oddities. Granted some animals are more known for their parts (ex: camel’s penis, bear paw, squirrel brains) but I figure if you’ve even tried these animals you should get to check them off. And no, I didn’t randomly place animals on here. These are all real food delicacies that are out there if you look hard enough.)

Re: "Jelly fish" — 2 years ago

Yep, you can eat them.

I had some a few months ago at a Chinese restaurant in Central Java. They were prepared in a sweet and sour sauce and although the texture was totally unlike anything else I’ve ever had, it was actually really delicious and not displeasing in any way. The person I was with agreed that they enjoyed it. :)

can you even eat one? how would you prepare it? it’s a very strange “animal”

had octopus, but upon eating some of the animals mentioned on this list, I would probably feel quite bad for them, especially bear.

I think a few thigns that were left out would be racoon, oposume, venison, and maybe eel. I suppose you might even through in crawdads.

Surely — 6 years ago

Horse belongs on this list..?

I haven’t had any of these…and I think it’s going to way that way!!

Yard Weeds! — 6 years ago

Dandelions, soaked in a milk/egg mixture, then rolled in flour. Deep fried till golden brown. Tastes just like fried mushroom….Really good! Some people even cook the greens and say they taste like spinach.

Daring? — 6 years ago

I want to try them all. I love eating strange stuff even if it tastes gross! It makes a good story!

Whoever completes this list is sure adventurous!!!! I applaud you.

Mostly meat — 7 years ago

I have one that’s for herbivores- candied hibiscus flowers. They look so pretty and outlandish and taste like fruit roll-ups!
