Since the early 1970s, the Academy has awarded the Saturn Awards for achievements in Science Fiction (since 1972), Fantasy (1973), Horror (1972), and Action/Adventure/Thriller Films (1994).

Note: There have been ties (1998) as well as awards spanning two years. (1974/1975, 1989/1990)

Replaced entry with movie instead of TV series.


I'm starting to question this list — 1 year ago

The 2007 pick—Cloverfield—was crap.

2009? Avatar? Just awful. It would have been better titled Pocohantas in Space.

District 9, which shamefully was not nominated for best sci fi picture, was head and shoulders above Avatar in every way save budget. Star Trek was better. I didn’t see the 2nd Transformers movie, but I’d be it was better too.
