Oodb's "What to Stock in Your Pantry"
A list created by browsing, and analyzing numerous pantry lists published by leading food authorities, cooking magazines, and food related websites. Items listed in order of how often they appeared on the various lists.
In stocking your new pantry, it may be costly to purchase everything at once. You may wish to add new items by purchasing them (in this suggested order) by every ten listed… In addition to whatever prepared or frozen foods you choose for consumption.
At the end of about a month, you should have almost all the basic pantry items, to complete any common classic recipe (adding of course the fresh food items, meats or dairy in the recipe). Fresh food PANTRY items, like butter, eggs, lemons will have to be replaced weekly, or as often as they are used.
You may wish to add any of these items, at any time, depending on what recipe you are making, or add additional items, not on the standard list for international recipes.
There are many choices for national brands, the illustrations only serve as suggestions, though many are the leading national brands, and likely the most available in every grocery, nationally.
