wokelstein's "GREAT Movies available on Netflix Instant View"

Add to my lists | Print this list

Having seen so much bickering about the lack of selection on Netflix Instant View I’ve taken it on myself to make a list of truly great films that are part of their catalog. Having completed the list, it’s really a pretty good blend of accepted classics (8 1/2, Gone With the Wind, 2001) and buried treasure (Johnny Got His Gun, Battle in Heaven, Pasolini’s Arabian Nights) . I got Die Hard and I got Persona. Maybe it’s a little short, but I think it goes a long way to disprove a lot of claims about the service.

The trouble is, the Netflix InstantWatch list isn’t graven in stone. Licenses expire; Criterion is taking all their films off by the end of 2011; etc.
