Ring — 1 week ago

Replaced out of print edition of The Ring with the new make-on-demand version.

Titles removed? — 3 years ago

I think this list used to be 53 films but now it is only 32 films long. Anyone have any insights on what happened?

list source — 5 years ago

I noticed that “Mary” was removed from the list because it did not match the list source, but “Mary” was a feature-length Hitchcock film. It differs from the English-version “Murder” in more than language, it is a separate film. There is a DVD version available on both the French and German amazon.com site, and Hitchcock speaks of directing it in “Hitchcock” by Truffaut. I don’t see why it shouldn’t be on the list.

Also, I question the validity of the list source, as it doesn’t even get the chronology right – “Waltzes from Vienna” was made before “The Man Who Knew Too Much.” The list also leaves off “Bon Voyage” and “Aventure Malgache,” which may not be feature length, but are generally included in lists of Hitchcock’s repertoire.

Anyway, I think we should add “Mary” back to the list.

Just noticed The Ring was missing, so added it at #3.
