GBrady's "Music List to Simplify Music Lists"

Stealing an idea from "Perlle":http://www.listsofbests.com/person/Perlle , the list below is compiled from the following 10 lists. To make THIS list, an album had to appear on at least 4 of them:

RIAA’s "Grammy Album of the Year Winners"
Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Albums of All Time
Record Collector Magazines "Classic Albums from 21 Genres for the 21st Century"
Rolling Stone "Reader’s 100"
Pitchfork Media’s "Top 100 Albums of the 1990s"
Virgin Records "Top 100 Albums"
Robert Dimery’s "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die"
NME’s "100 Greatest British Albums Ever"
Wikipedia’s "Albums claimed to have sold 20 million or more units"
Rolling Stone "50 Essential Women in Rock Albums"

My rationale for choosing the lists I did was to attempt some degree of ‘globalness’ (hence the NME list and the Wikipedia list on the assumption that you can’t sell ALL those albums in the U.S.), a balance between critical and ‘popular’ acclaim (the Wikipedia list fulfills the popular aim, as well as the Rolling Stone and Virgin list since ‘average Joes’ had votes in that one, too) and a desire to try and keep it from being too boomer-homogenous (which is why the Record Collector list and Pitchfork lists are on here).

Every album here appeared on at least 4 of the 10 lists with those appearing on the largest number of lists at the top (THRILLER, surprisingly, was the ONLY release to turn up on 7 lists.) giving you slightly less than 100 titles. Hopefully, this is a good guide to stuff to listen to!
