<title>Lists of Bests: Films that Won the Stalin Prize or the USSR State Prize</title>
    <link>http://www.listsofbests.com/list/48010</link>
<description>Very roughly the equivalent of the U.S. Congressional Medal of Honor, the Stalin Prize was awarded in various fields to those deemed to have made significant contributions to the Soviet Union. The prize did not recognize film every year; hence, some years are skipped in the below list. Also, in some years a specific film was recognized along with its director, whereas in others only an individual was named, and in still others the music for a film was recognized. The Stalin Prize was awarded from 1941 to 1954, at which time the name was changed to the USSR State Prize, which continued to be awarded until 1991.
