Thought I might bring the list at little more in line with its title. Though I won’t pretend the movies I’ve added are high culture, many Americans may reference these movies and expect that you’re at least passingly familiar with them.

So well-cultured may be a stretch, but American isn’t.

cultured? — 3 years ago

I don’t believe this list of movies and well-cultured go together in any capacity, but most were entertaining movies at the very least.

suggestion? — 4 years ago

my well educated and very specifically cultured boyfriend, whom I trust in all senses, real and unreal, suggests that Freddy Got Fingered should appear on this list. And he can go f*ck himself!

LOL Dirty Dancing

Where are... — 5 years ago

Where are Charlie Chaplin and Alfred Hitchcock? While they haven’t made all the best movies that exist, they still did make some good ones and should at least deserve being on this list. And I also believe that well-cultured people should watch foreign movies.

If by cultured, you mean mainstream, low brow, pop culture, I agree with you.
