"Kiss Me Deadly"? One of the greats? I don't think so. — 2 years ago

I just watched “Kiss Me Deadly,” not one hour ago. I can’t believe this film has a 7.6 rating, and is included with the best film noir on so many lists.

It’s more like a lesson in bad acting, by a lot of unknown actors…with the exception of Cloris Leachman, who always delivers a great performance. Too bad she was only on screen for the first 8 minutes of the movie. I mean, it’s on the same lists as “Double Indemnity”?!

It has a great beginning, and your expectations are high after seeing this. And then it’s all downhill from there.

I’m sure glad I didn’t buy this one. I was going to, but it’s out-of-print…Thank, God!...it saved me some money.

I’m not a qualified film critic, by any means. But I have some really good film noir movies in my collection. I love film noir.

I made a list of my favorite movies I own if you’d like to take a look at it.

This is a list of my favorite English-Speaking movies I own on DVD. I call them “The Very Best” because each of these movies is listed on more than one, credible Best Movies list. That’s how I make my decision to purchase them, by scouring credible movie lists. If a movie keeps showing up on lists, there’s a good chance I’ll buy it on DVD. (I just got tired of investing my money on low-rated movies that I thought would be good, only to be disappointed. These aren’t listed here.)
