Taking of Chicago, Kill Bill, The Lord of the Rings movies in favor of some of the recent movies added? Seriously? Bad move.

Disbelief — 10 weeks ago

I can’t believe the films that got cut…

i mean Meet the Parents is still on the list and other movies I would have never considered worthy.

Absolutely devastated.

Additions — 15 weeks ago

Hey everyone,

They’ve revised the book once again. In keeping congruous with the 1001 movies to see before you die list on this site, I’ve added the films that were dropped from the newest version to this list.

Cheers.

Setting aside personal taste, bad move to get rid of Far from Heaven, Fellowship of the Ring, City of God, Russian Ark, Hero, Age of Innocence, Audition + Million Dollar Baby

as if ‘City of God’ was booted, that was the best film of the last 10 years.

Oh well, at least we know it wasn’t for the sake of keeping ‘Chicago’ in the book.

I'm sad too hehe — 1 year ago

You can’t take off The Lord of the Rings! Not to mention the fact that you can’t see Return of the King all by its lonesome. If you want to include it in a ‘must see’ list, the other two comes as a done deal!

they deleted The Pillow Book. Some of them make sense (Far From Heaven jumps out at me), but I think PB is a total gem (and not just because of lovely Ewan… okay, maybe a little).

And removing 4 Martin Scorsese movies seems a bit harsh.
