Really? — 3 weeks ago

Can’t believe they didn’t include Keane’s Hopes and Fears (2004), but had The White Stripes which is not nearly as good.

George Jones - Grand Tour — 12 weeks ago

I have ONE album I need to hear before I can finish this list. “Grand Tour” by George Jones. I cannot find it ANYWHERE except for Amazon. Granted, I’ll buy it there eventually if that’s what it takes, but I’m pretty sure I’m only going to listen to it once.

Anyone know where else I might be able to find this?

does anyone know — 24 weeks ago

if this list is in chronological order?

the top 500? — 48 weeks ago

Rush was at 494 with moving pictures? Dexy’s midnight runners appeared before rush? The list is very eclectic, but c’mon. . .one hit wonders abound! To make a must hear list, you must have at least have heard of the band!!!!

Awesome! — 1 year ago

Thanks again to the “Listers” who directed me to great websites that I could download or stream the albums I can’t find locally.

The Internet is such a great tool (and so unappreciated by those that have grown up always having it) Why when I was a kid we had to…..(inject your own story here…)

But I REALLY did have to take a bus about 25 miles and takes little white note cards, just to get information for reports, and then type it (sometimes several times when you made a typo!)

The Internet and the way you can reach out to people all around the globe…still awes me.

Thanks again

Looking for these albums — 1 year ago

These are the albums I have not been able to locate locally, that complete the 1960’s decade of this list. I believe, unless I overlooked one, that I have all the others for this time period, (or am currently waiting for them from the library) and would be happy to trade or share with you. If anyone can direct me to a location that I might find them, or you have them to share, please let me know. THANKS!

Springfield, Dusty – A Girl Called Dusty
Jansch, Bert – Bert Jansch (1st Album)
Neil, Fred – Fred Neil (1st Album)
Revere, Paul & the Raiders – Midnight Ride
Beau Brummels – Triangle
Electric Prunes – I Had too Much to Dream (Last Night)
Lynn, Loretta – Don’t Come Home a Drinkin’ (With Lovin’ on Your Mind)
Veloso, Caetan– CaetanVelos (1968)
Walker, Scott – Scott 2
Buckley, Tim – Happy Sad
Youngbloods – Elephant Mountain

THANKS ! — 1 year ago

Thank you to the listers, who helped me find Jack Takes the Floor!

I get the impression many of the lister/collectors know about more source options than I do, in getting to some of these albums.

It was suggested I should post what albums I am looking for, but not finding, which I will do in the next posting.

I also have a great number of the albums already, about 500 because I am at 50% complete now, so I may have some that I can trade with others. Almost all come from the actual cd’s so they may be a bit higher quality, or a least a larger bitrate, which I think (?)makes them better (?)

So if anyone has other ideas on how to find and trade music, or great sites to do that on…please let me know…

Once again, thanks to all

Ramblin' Jack Elliott Anybody?? — 1 year ago

This album is pretty rare… I can’t find it anywhere. Many of the cd’s I have listened to are from the library, who has a surprisingly great number of the items on this list (over 500 so far!) But this album/cd seems to be almost a myth, no one has it…even Amazon. Does anyone out there actually have it? Can I listen to yours? Please, please, please, please?

#102 is wrong — 1 year ago

102 is a SINGLE by Loretta Lynn…just that one song…and NOT the whole album. If it doesn’t exist in the system, someone would have to create the entry.
