This is a definitive version of the list from the book 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die, edited by Steven Jay Schneider, SECOND EDITION, 2005 US publication date, hardback, with the picture from "The Shining" on the front cover ISBN 0-7641-5907-0. The latest film in the list is Million Dollar Baby on page 949.
