Phobos Entertainment's "100 Science Fiction Books You Just Have to Read"

Add to my lists | Print this list

Take my word for it; all science fiction books are not created equal. All right, don’t take my word for it. You’ll figure it out when you plow through packed bookstore shelves. You’ll realize soon enough that not every writer pens a tale worth reading. So just how does one find stellar SF? For starters, why don’t you try out these 100 narrative works. Each one should be part of every SF reader’s—not to mention every SF writer’s—repertoire. Many of these novels are award winners, and most have inspired profound trends in science fiction. List picked by Keith Olexa for Phobos.

List Destruction/Secondary List Source — 28 weeks ago

Someone had deleted all but 24 of the books on this list.

Also, the Phobos website is defunct.

I found a copy of the list here: http://www.hcpl.net/booklists/phobosbook.htm

I have restored the list, but a number of editions have changed.

Defunct listsource — 39 weeks ago

The website that produced this lists seems no longer to exist. Does anyone have another link? (I was unable to locate another one.)

#1 Childhood's End — 1 year ago

had been deleted. I replaced it.

Olaf Stapledon books — 1 year ago

The two books by this author were listed under the same link. I have separated them, so each book can be checked off individually.

The listsource wasn't working — 1 year ago

The website it came from changed its location slightly. I updated it and it’s working again.

#34 Ender's Game — 2 years ago

I changed the link to point to the single novel rather than the three book series.
