Great list! Just about all are either favorites or high on my must-see list (unfortunately the majority are still in the latter category). I can use this as a real checklist.

Is Close-Up a doc? Hard to say what it is, as it’s a dramatic recreation of a real event.

I take it you’re not a fan of Ken Burns. Hype or no, I think he’s done some great work (Civil War, Jazz, Not for Ourselves Alone).

Also, consider checking out Barbara Kopple.
