The Chronicle's "Western 100"
Polling began July 29 for The Chronicle Western 100, our list of the best 20th century fiction written in or about—or by an author from—the Western United States. Since then balloting has been declared officially over at least twice, each time followed by still more reader nominations just too shrewd to exclude.
