Lit Nets 100 Greats Literary Works

Add to my lists | Print this list

This list was compiled by the Literature Network, an online forum (http://www.online-literature.com/forums/index.php) dedicated to the discussion of literature. It is the list of the 100 Best Literary Books as decided by the members upon the forum based on their nominations.

There were no restrictions placed upon the list, it was open to all forms of literary work, from novels, plays, poetry, etc. from any period of time and from any part of the world. In order to have what the readers truly felt were the best works of all time.

The list was partially created to address the common complaints that some of the members have about such lists in believing that such lists are commonly unbalanced weighing heavily towards works of the Western World and neglecting lesser known but deserving works in place of more popular works. Thus it was created to give them the chance to choose the books they felt were most deserving of acknowledgment.

Of course a few familiar names still appeared, and of course there were still some complaints about the list.

But here is.
