Best crime novels according to German crime novelists
Voted on by 122 members of Das Syndikat (an association of German/Swiss/Austrian mystery writers) in 2002. Everyone voted for ten books. Works from German-speaking countries were not allowed.
The list has been offline for a long time now, but thanks to the Web Archive, it can still be found.
Sorted by the number of votes. There are a lot of ties, including a four-way one for first place (it would have been a five-way tie had "The Big Sleep" received one more vote). Includes all the books with at least 3 votes.
